Recruiting business marks a double-digit drop in 2008

Revenue worldwide in the executive search industry fell 14 percent during the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to the same period in 2007, the drop capping a year of declining activity and ending a five-year streak of record revenues in nearly every sector of the business. And according to the Association of Executive Search Consultants, net revenues for all of 2008 grew only 3.1 percent compared to 2007, indicating a dramatic slowdown in the high growth levels experienced in previous years.
